Owner and Illustrator Behind Hananea Hawaii

Aloha! Hananea Hawaiʻi is a small stationery shop rooted on Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. Hananea comes from the Hawaiian word Hana, meaning “to do” or “to work,” and Nanea, a reflection of ease, relaxation, and a personal connection through my middle name. Together, the name represents creating with intention, peace, and heart.

My love for making began at a young age. As a child, I found joy in creating handmade gifts—small crafts made with care to share with the people around me. That feeling of giving, of creating something meaningful for someone else, stayed with me and eventually became the foundation for Hananea Hawaiʻi.

In early 2025, I took a leap of faith and began bringing my artwork into the digital space, which led to designing and creating handmade stickers and stationery. Every piece is thoughtfully created from initial sketch to final product and is inspired by the local culture, familiar landscapes, and childhood memories of Hawaiʻi.

Through my work, I hope to evoke a sense of nostalgia—reminding others of where they come from, the culture that shapes them, and the simple joys tied to memory and place. Hananea Hawaiʻi is my way of honoring those moments and sharing that same feeling of warmth and connection with others.
